Fraser Stephen Director of Photography | Self Shooting Director

About

I’m Fraser Stephen, an award-winning Cinematographer, Self-Shooting Director and Photographer.
Originally from the north east of Scotland, I’m now based in London and shooting internationally.

With over 15 years of professional experience, I’ve honed a multidisciplinary approach. I began my career after earning a Bachelor’s in Photography, focusing on live music and portraiture, before progressing to moving image. In 2015, I completed a Master’s in Film with Distinction, which solidified my passion for Cinematography.

Since then, I’ve been the DoP on high-profile projects for National Theatre, Qatar Airways x Paris St. Germain, England Cricket, The FA, Premier League Productions, Nike Running and JD Sports, among others. My work has been recognised for its elevated docu-style aesthetics by British Cinematographer. I've been involved in projects which have been awarded by the British Film Institute ('Safe', BFI Futures Best Micro Short 2023) and The Clios (World's Fastest FPV Drone vs. F1 Car ft Max Verstappen).

Beyond my professional life, I’m passionate about running, cycling, weightlifting, and hiking — activities that shape my creative perspective.

Collaboration is at the heart of my work. I thrive on uniting teams around a shared vision, combining strong work ethic with an eye for aesthetics to deliver impactful projects. My ultimate vision is to create films that motivate people to live healthier, more active lives.
